Overview
In this workshop, you will learn how to design a migration strategy to help your customers migrate their on-premises workloads to Azure using the guidance provided by Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework for Azure. This will include the migration of virtual and physical servers as well as databases. You will learn about the different assessment and migration tools available to for your use during the migration process. You will also learn how to optimize and govern the cloud workloads using the tools available within Azure and implement security with Microsoft Defender for Cloud and Microsoft Sentinel. This session will also include hands on lab practice to gain a better understanding of the migration process.
Modules
Cloud Adoption Framework
This course introduces the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework for Azure and the messaging framework for cloud adoption scenarios. You’ll learn about the Ready methodology and Landing Zone setup, along with guidance on choosing the right Azure landing zone to support your organization’s cloud operations and infrastructure needs effectively.
Migrating Virtual machines
This course provides an overview of migration tools and guides you through the Azure Migrate process for efficiently migrating workloads to Azure. You’ll learn best practices and tools for a smooth transition, ensuring performance, scalability, and security in your new cloud environment.
Migrate Databases
This course covers database migration using the Azure Database Migration Service, with a focus on migrating to Azure Database for PostgreSQL. You’ll learn step-by-step processes and best practices to ensure a seamless, secure, and efficient migration of databases to Azure.
Migrating Web Apps
This course provides guidance on migrating web apps to Azure, covering tools and techniques for a smooth transition. It also includes information on partner offers that provide additional resources and support to enhance your migration journey.
Post Migration governance, optimization and compliance
This course introduces governance and management methodologies within Azure, focusing on the Well-Architected Framework to design and manage secure, efficient cloud solutions. You’ll also learn strategies for optimizing reliability to ensure robust, high-performing infrastructure.
Securing the migrated workloads
This course covers the Security pillar of the Well-Architected Framework, emphasizing best practices for securing cloud environments. You'll learn how to implement Microsoft Defender for Cloud and Microsoft Sentinel for threat detection and response, as well as explore Azure Security and Microsoft Copilot for Security for proactive and AI-driven security management.
